Last week’s action seen Belmont continue there great form with a win over valley. Basso fought hard but cott were too good in the end. Canning kicked straighter than canning vale and had another impressive win. Gossy put their foot on the throat of balla to smash them out of the park. Piara and Kingsley looked like a great close game with piara getting up by 2 goals.
Kingsley v Belmont, this is sure to be a cracker. Belmont in fine form and Kingsley not that far off. The Kingsley boys get a chance at home to possibly pull one back after last week’s effort and will have to put the clamps on Belmont early. Belmont by 15 points
Canning Vale were not that bad last week and I’m sure can tidy up a few areas to overcome cott. These two I think will match up well with each other and I think will be another close game. Cott by 3 points
Basso have not started well at all. Sitting winless at the bottom they now come up against ladder leaders in Piara Waters. This could get out of hand very quickly. Piara Waters by 10 goals
Balla need to put last week behind them and show up this week! They were used for training cones last week and need to get that fire back. A young canning side is going to put them through their paces. Canning by 7 goals
GOTR. . . Valley get a big chance this week to take down a big side. Who knows what side Gossy will bring up to the valley but last week they were on song and will still be on a high. Valley can really get their season going with a win here. Valley by 1 point
Colts gone, thirds folded after 2 or 3 games. Usually a pretty competitive league side who rarely got belted off the park. Reserves played a final last year and now dont look like winning.
Kingsley Cats by 26 over Belmont Bombers, CanningVale Cougars by 27 over Cottesloe Roosters, Piara Waters Falcons by Bassendean Swans, Canning Tigers by 64 over Ballajura Royals and Swan Valley by 61 over Gosnells Hawks.
Falcons sitting pretty at 5-0 with Cats and Bombers close by and throw a blanket to 8th with Basso and Balla winless but that will change in 2 weeks time.
I made a couple calls and looked at some footage after your comment and definitely wasn’t a jumper punch.
The Cottesloe player took a mark and ran in to the bench area and ran towards the coach and in to him so the coach pushed him back and got 8 weeks. He definitely can’t touch a player but in the video it doesn’t look like he was the instigator and definitely did not throw a jumper punch.
Thanks for clarifying and clearing that up Viper. I only had some second hand info from another source. Either way not a great outcome I guess canning was hoping for.
he is a coach … cannot touch a player. The vision is very clear. He is copping it hard that’s for sure given Leigh Kitchin got 1 week for breaking a players jaw!!
He is allowed to protect himself which would mean turning sideways etc but he pushed the player away and you just can’t do that even if the player instigated it. I think 8 weeks is ridiculous though.
Lord help anyone if they just put the handbrake on anyone charging into their area,be it intentional or accidental.
Anyone should ask a Tribunal,“What do you seriously believe I should do in a situation like that? What would you do?Honestly?Let him run into you and put you in Hospital?!”
If they still suspend someone from there,I would say they’ve lost all sense of Reality!
Have you actually watched the footage? The cott player is running flat out to take a mark. Cott take the mark just before the boundary, right in front of the Tigers bench. A spector, who I assume to be the tiger’s coach move towards the cott player as they are following through with momentum, then dips his shoulder into the player. Any normal, educated person standing there watching the game would simply steppedthe other way (as the benched Tigers player did) and not into the path of a player running towards them. This is how all in brawls and assaults happen where innocent kids are injured. The tigers coach should have received a heftier penalty.
