safe to say they would prefer it there then with the rest of the U.K
tm,gtr: I think the DUP were preparred to have a hard Brexit with the return of the border in Ireland. It is not the first time unionists have been stabbed in the back by the Tories. Does anyone remember the Anglo-Irish agreement signed by thatcher in the 1980s?
I am unsure the DUP has played all its cards. A motion of ‘no confidence’ in the government could be put by the party. If that happens Jeeza won’t know what to do.
The original Brexit legislation passed by May did so with the help of Labour, whose members were scarred stiff of the large Brexit majorities in their electorates; the sensible ones, I think lads, are still that way inclined, and to be sure, would also prefer some deal to hard Brexit.
As a hard Brexit supporter I would abstain and let Boris’ deal pass. Only time will tell if the electorate will punish the Tories at a future election and support the more hard line Farage.
Ark I’ve heard Boris has asked Australia. For a 3 way deal with NZ .Where all citizens of each country can life in each country without visas.Like AU+NZ have ATM.
Spoken to some Poms about this. They don’t like the idea at all.Something to do with Mozzies I guess and the number in the UK.
Yep - 30 native species already there gtr, but none that I am aware of from the Antipodes. B)
However, they are certainly worried about the Asian Tiger Aedes albopictus getting a foothold as it can spread several nasties, including yellow fever, dengue fever and Zika virus.
Why where talking insects Jack.Do you notice many bees when you go on your bike rides in the jungle.Bees have been declared the most important living species on planet earth.By the World Science Journal.
Don’t see many bees, gtr - but they are certainly around. The locals often lob up with a piece of well-laden honeycomb.
No shortage of other insects, including bities and termites. And as you can imagine, mozzies are a real issue, with the Asian Tiger I highlighted above quite prevalent.

Mr Farage would have to contest the election for that to happen - which like in 2017 is something he may not do. If he does decide to run i guess it probably wont be in South Thanet constituency.
Oh well Loon Letwin has torpedoed the first Saturday sitting since the Falklands War, what a massive waste of time.
This endless delay obfuscation and avoidance, is an international embarrassment. The mother of all parliaments is a mother of all shambles.
I’ve come to the conclusion that the chance of brexit actually happening are very slim.

The morons in the DUP have only got themselves to blame, they were the only NI party to campaign for Brexit, at the same time the wanted to keep the border open ,yet failed to ever find a real solution. Their own constituents voted to remain ( smarter than the DUP because being in the EU works for NI) , they could of had the best deal going having the best of both the UK and EU Tariff regimes allowing its economy to thrive and grow, but the DUP have are pretty good at making a habit of never missing an opportunity to miss an opportunity. Now they find themselves voting in support of Labour and helping Corbyn.
Not the first time, Corbyn like them opposed the Anglo Irish Agreement…lol
The cold hard realisation that they haven’t got a friend in the world either Tory or Labour must now be dawning on them, England doesn’t want them and Scotland wants to go its own way.
It will be fun to see them under a Corbyn Labour Gov, they might as well start learning Irish now.
the UUP voted to remain
the DUP voted to leave
the traditional unionist voice also campaigned for leave
the DUP have always said that, if it came to the crunch they would pick remain in the union and the EU over Brexit. In all honesty Baz, the DUP don’t really need to have friends in the world when they hold the ballance of power in parliament. At the next election, they will win 10 or 11 seats, and, happily some in the Tory party and many in the Labour party will not be at Westminster to greet them.
Labour party, on the other hand, has lied on the issue since the last general election.
Boris the Russian now has a decision to make: should he accept the soft brexit amendments subject to the Labour party supporting legislation for a general election?

The DUP will be irrelevant in the new parliament, they are on borrowed time, and its a good chance the people of NI will punish them for the complete bungle they have made of this.
They better start campaigning for remain quick smart then if they want the “union”
DUP = Doomed Ulster Party.
You ripper
Boris gets his General Election and a good thing , the people will get the say.
12 December 2019.
So if Boris wins the election in a landslide can these party pooper Muppets still stick their club foot in the door and block Brexit?
FFS I’m sick of it. Give Britain their borders back.
I thought Australian politics was a shambles during the Rudd, Gillard, Rudd, Abbott, Turnbull years but the Poms buy and sell us in that respect…I’m over it too DD ands I can’t imagine what your average punter in the UK thinks about their pollies over there…they should just make a decision either way and get on with it.
BC – it has worked itself out: the liberal democrats have shot themselves in the foot, but they are right in the sense that, only an upset electoral victory will stop Brexit
all the DUP will be returned
the SNP may win seats in Scotland
in polls the Tories are leading even in Wales over Labour
it is important for the Russian to win the election to at least get partially out of the EU
once, that happens, it is possible that the WTOers could campgain for full Brexit at the following election
there will always be a pro-Europe faction to get back in, but it would cost the country too much in the following areas that the returners would struggle to win an election or referendum .
the common currency
the same VAT rates
immigration
Gibraltar – there is no way Spain would let them re-join without first annexing the fortress as part of the agreement.
DD:to answer your question on the Tory rebels possibly blocking stuff after the election. Apparently, every tory members must sign a pledge to deliver Brexit, Brexit being defined as the Russian’s deal with Europe – including the decade of negotiations to come with the EU over the trade agreement. Canada’s took nine years.
Be interesting to see what the turn out will be like for the general election - and how much higher it be (if so) for this one.
You would hope that a bleak, dark winters day in mid December won’t see people stay home - non compulsory voting should have an impact here you wouldn’t think.
All this excitement about bugger all. They signed in. Just walk & save trying to get bugger all. Bring back the borders & slow down migration.. This Brexit Megathread will be bigger than Fremantle’s the way its going.. AND THEY HAVE NOTHING.

Nah mate, if he wins a landslide the deal will go through without the disgraceful delays that have been dragged on to do.
Then again if its another hung parliament, its the same old game.

SNP will pick up Conservative seats in Scotland ( Scotland now hardline remain )
Conservatives will lose seats to Lib Dems in Remain electorates South West England Home counties.
Conservatives will pick up seats from Labour that are on slim margins
DUP will probably lose 2 seats to Alliance/UUP but are now going to have to rethink their disastrous Brexit stance, NI currently now running at 70% remain.
Cant See Corbyn picking up too many for Labour, Farange is going to run hard in North East England for Brexit Party and run dead in Con seats.
Boris on track for a narrow majority for mine or a hung parliament god forbid, with the hardline remain and SNP Lib Dems holding the balance.
