It is just an absolute indictment of our competition that the amateurs E grade standard women’s football takes preference and importance, more to the point, than WAFL finals.

Quite ironic for South that Freo did B*gger off to Cockburn a year or so ago.If they didn’t,South would have had to play their Home Final on Saturday this weekend.

Love it that will be an absolute bonanza $$$ day for the Perth football club. Can’t understand why people are whining about having to play football on the traditional Saturday instead of Sunday because AFLW has the ground booked for Sunday. Big deal. I’ll take Saturday over Sunday anytime.

I would have happily had Saturday as well,rednblack.
Originally we were supposed to be Sunday,which ordinarily in September meant having clear air from the AFL.But oh no!
The AFLW has started a new season and gotten in the way.
So we play Saturday,UNLESS West Coast turn around at the 9th Hour and say,they don’t want any use of the Oval the day before an AFL Event.And/Or the AFLW Admin doesn’t.
West Coast being who they are,or at least their administrative body,found a few willing suckers in Claremont in combining their AFLW Game with a WAFL Game.
So if folk are only going to the one event(and I know plenty around,who wouldn’t touch Women’s footy with a Bargepole),you pretty much have to wait until 20 minutes or so,before you can get in the Gate.
The AFL without even trying,knows how to get in the way.You yourself mentioned we needed a permit to be able to boost the Attendance to 6 000.Why TF is that impost being put on a WAFL Event,particularly a Final?And Us in the process,at our Home Ground?!

You guys missed an opportunity beers wise earlier this year,with an unguarded esky.
That won’t happen again,unless Perth operate that area on an Eagles Home Game and anyway,it will be attended to.

I agree with you on Saturday, reckon playing Sunday cost us big esp as older Members just dont like it and didnt turn up.

Shaping as a good reserves 2nd semi tommorrow. Swans have Collins, Lynch, Kane, Cotellessa, Cartwright Cummings Smith, Harvey and Blake Kelly who have all played league this year but have played enough reserves to qualify. East Perth are coming off a powerful 80 point win in their first final. If the weather forecast is correct it will be a bit of a slog

Well that needs to be reviewed at the end of the season because it compromises the competition. Fremantle winning WAFL premierships is not good for the WAFL. Fix it you halfwits.
