2026 Predictions

I have my thought on whom, but I wouldn’t mind the odd update from The Club,on Injured Players, what the Injuries are,how long are the players out for and a safe, conservative estimate on their return!

Saw a presentation by former WCE High Performance Manger, Glenn Stewart after there 2018 Flag which that looked at winning percentages based on the availability of WCE’s Top 10 players. If they only had 5-6 available they only won 40% of matches, 7-8 available was 55-60%, 9 available was 66% and all 10 available was 80%

Injures to depth players can be covered, injuries to your Top 10 costs you significantly.

On average AFL teams only had all 10 of there best 10 available 15% of the time, and 9 of 10 was 25%. In 2018 WCE were well ahead of the AFL average for Top 10 player availability, the last 3 or 4 seasons they’ve been well below.

In the 2018 GF WCE only had 7/10 available, but Collingwood only had 6 available

Doddy looks like the only one updating the injury list but I’m sure he’s playing funny games. There was a list of about 10 just updated to 3 and got Paton down for rnd 1. That ain’t happening, rnd 4 or 5 I was told. Be interesting to see if Schlensog is available for selection. Should be released Wednesday night for the Good Friday games.

So EF start the season with 17 players on their injury list according to the WAFL site…..whilst not all are top 23 …..that is one helluva swipe on the clubs depth………..I think I can predict which club will be pushing for WS honours…..and it ain’t SD

I’m not sure how accurate that is Freez as it says Subi doesn’t have anyone injured and I know that’s not right.

Mate there was only 3 on there for EF last Friday…..and they were all from last year…..so I reckon it’s been updated….going to be an interesting start for all 3 grades at EF in 26….true test of character…..sink or swim stuff.

Yes, but according to the site, EF and Claremont are the only two clubs with injuries.

Perth’s is up to date BC just not accurate.

Ferals are up today BC, a few of them out for Friday

Cheers DG. Here’s hoping ebola sets in at the ferals.

As others have noted, everything will depend on injuries to key players and the depth to cover what is exposed if lost for too long. I’ll have a go, assuming most teams keep a good chunk of their best 23 on the park for most of the season…

  1. Claremont
  2. Subi
  3. East Perth
  4. South
  5. Perth
  6. Peel
  7. Swans
  8. Eagles
  9. West Perth
  10. East Freo

Nice stats Tiger Tales. Injuries maketh the season.

I like the way you roll Mufasa

Might as well have a crack at this. See where it lands at the end of the season.

  1. South Fremantle
  2. Peel Thunder
  3. Claremont
  4. Perth
  5. East Perth
  6. Subiaco
  7. Swans
  8. West Perth
  9. West Coast
  10. East Fremantle

Ok,here’s my Ladder just before this Season commences.

Like it Grassy Byrner winning a Simpson in a grand final would be amazing for Perth diehards. The guy deserves it.

If you use bullet list function it avoids the annoying line breaks but some of you (including you Grassy :joy:) who with poor punctuation if you happen to hit the enter key it gives us all a BREAK!

I must’ve tapped onto something, before posting that one.
