2014 Premiers

Would have to say the Hawks look far better than last year. I cannot see another team other than the Hawks winning the flag. In the bag already as i said at this time last year also :woohoo:

The only thing that may stop Hawthorn is injuries. Having said that, they cover injuries better than anyone. Jarrad Roughead is outstanding. Losing him to Sydney would have been far worse for the Hawks than losing Buddy.

It’s hard to look past the Hawks. They will drop a few games, but not many.

Give em a inch they will take a mile and kil ya. Pressure emand stop hteir flow, and they aint that tough

The only thing that might stop them being premiers is if they face off the cats in the GF.

Hmmmm… Injuries are starting to hit, Sam Mitchell will be a big loss. Also I have a nagging suspicion that Hawthorn are so eager to prove to everybody that they don’t have a premiership hangover that they have commenced the season in peak form, destroying everybody, whereas the other major contenders have all started slowly and are gradually building. Its not out of the realms of possibility that the Hawks could run out of steam at the business end of the season… then again I might be just grasping at straws.
Don’t forget however at WAFL level, we were all saying this time last year that they might as well hand the 2013 premiership cup to Claremont and they didn’t even make the Grand Final.

Brian Lake is another out with injury. But not sure they will worry too much about him as long as they get him back late in the season to play finals.
Have to say they are very very short priced favourites right now.Hard to see any club running them close the way they are playing. But sillier things have happened.

Hawthorn supporters only have to think back to 2008, when Geelong were by far the best team in the competition ( they only lost one game for the whole season) but Hawthorn deservedly snatched the flag on Grand Final day. The Hawks were stung by Sydney in 2012 when most people thought they were a shoo in for the flag. It is silly to call anyone home in May because there are so many variables and unknowns between now and September.

Unless of course you are talking about the EP Eagles mikeh, as the best supported club outside of the AFL surely they are a shoe-in for the WAFL flag. Nobody can beat them they are so good, so self sufficient, so elite especially in the coaching dept, in such a harmonious state as a club with no signs of being critically endangered by a deadly virus ( some would call it bird flu) so lets just keep their drums beating loudly until round 20 or so :silly: otherwise agree with you completely

Bit early, but the writing is on the wall me thinks it Hawks v ? for the GF…top 4 wont change much now,

They’d be hoping it wasnt Geelong they were play last day in September, they normally shit there pants and go to water when they play that mob!!

And another true statement not attacked but win again. Probably again in 2016.. Sleeping giants awaken by the FAT Lady.
